Stop The Deception
Every once in a while, I’ll take a break from working inside my office and sit in a local restaurant with my laptop to get some work done. While having breakfast one morning, I heard something very interesting. The lady sitting in the booth behind me was on her cell phone. She was so loud that several of us in the restaurant could hear the entire conversation without trying. One of the statements I heard her say was “What he doesn’t know, won’t hurt him”. She then began to laugh.
Now, I don’t know who it was she was referring to, but this statement is of deception and a statement that we have all heard at one time or another. Some have been brought up around deceptive acts when growing up and some are still surrounded by it. Just because you’ve been brought up around these types of acts doesn’t mean that you have to repeat them. It’s time to make a difference and not repeat the cycle.
If you were brought up around parents who were deceptive to one another, it may have affected you to a point to where you knew how not to be towards your spouse. Especially, if you were one brought up in a single parent home as a result of the deceptive acts. Deception usually ends up hurting someone when it’s all over with. Let’s end the cycle and focus on being more respectful and considerate of other’s feelings. We need to set an example for our children. Afterall, they are our future!
