Pan Seared Spiced Trout

shyratrout  We got in a little late tonight from baseball and soccer practice and instead of stopping at a fast food place,  I decided to whip up something really quick and easy for dinner.  I made a quick trip to our neighborhood Sprouts and picked up some fresh Trout! Once I got home and into my kitchen, I was able to get dinner on the table in just 20 minutes!  While the fish was cooking, I placed the broccolini in a microwave steam bag and set the microwave for 2 1/2 minutes.   The fish took less than 10 minutes to cook!  Check out the easy recipe below because I really think you’ll like this one!

  • 4 trout fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Your favorite seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1 lemon quartered

  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet
  2. Place the trout fillets skin side down and cook for 3-4 minutes. Using a spatula, press down on each fillet for  even cooking.
  3. Season the top of each trout fillet equally with your favorite seasoning, red pepper flakes and cilantro.
  4. Cook trout for another 2-3 minutes
  5. Squeeze a little lemon juice over the top of the trout and serve with your favorite side dish.

We Can Learn A Lot From A Baby On Self-Worth

When a baby is first born, he/she is so precious and so deserving of all of the special attention he/she gets.  I mean… think about it…  At this stage in life, a baby is so precious and everyone caters to him/her.  We can’t speak loudly because the baby is sleeping;  we can’t begin our travel until we make sure we have all of the baby items that keeps him/her content, packed up.  When he/she cries, we do all that we can to help him/her stop.  Sometime later in life, that same baby begins to have negative and/or positive seeds planted into him/her.  That same baby is exposed to positive or negative influences.  That same baby begins acting off of the impressions implanted into him/her.

All of that attention that this same baby received when he/she was born is the same attention he/she deserves as an adult.  When in doubt, we have to stop and remind ourselves that we are deserving of  things that keep us happy and content.  We were born into this world deserving and we are valuable enough to believe as adults that we are deserving.

When we start drifting into doubt again, we just might have to remind ourselves that a true authority on our self-worth is Jesus Christ.  We are so incredibly valuable that he gave his own life for us by dying on the cross.  No More Settling Because We’re  Deserving of So Much More!  Happy Monday!

Stop And Smell The Roses

Do you take time to release life’s trappings & enjoy life at its most basic level?

Do you take time to release life’s trappings & enjoy life at its most basic level? Today, my family and I made a spontaneous move and did just that. Going to the lake today was amazingly rewarding on both a personal & spiritual level. Taking a break to spend time laughing, playing, conversing & enjoying nature can give peacefulness one needs to recharge their battery and pursue their dreams with increased passion. So that phrase that we’ve heard in the past, “Stop and smell the roses”, is something that I encourage everyone to do from time to time.  The simplest things in life are sometimes the most pleasurable as well.
